Custom Anne Burrell Doll

Hello, everyone! This is Poppy speaking (or typing really) and I am here to show off a doll I made for my mom on Mother's Day.
 This is Anne.
I made her using a Barbie child doll that a friend had given me. SHE was a 2006 Kelly doll and looked a lot like these dolls below, though none of these are her.

Before her repaint, she was one of the ugliest dolls I had ever seen. That is precisely why I chose her to be my first face-up redo victim *cough* I mean volunteer.
First, I cut off all her hair then rerooted it with the cut hair so it was short and spiky. Next, I died her hair and gelled it in place with creme acrylic paint. I drew in her eyes and lipstick with nail art nail polish. The rest of the makeup was done with stuff I had borrowed from my mom. I made her caplet with felt and colored on the details.
The skirt was made from a ring of red material off a pair of old shorts and her red clogs were painted on with nail polish.

This was my inspiration for the doll......                           and this is how she turned out.

Overall, my Anne custom is pretty amatuer and by not really all that accurate, but it was my first full doll-overhaul and it made my Mom laugh. I had a lot of fun with her and that's really all that matters in the world of doll customizing. So on that note, this Poppy, proudly signing off!

P.S. Found this really pretty barbie in my search for the Kelly dolls.
